The 2022 Korea Open will be the eighth tournament on the BWF World Tour, and it will be hosted in conjunction with the Korea Open championships, which have been held since 1991. The Badminton Korea Association is hosting this competition, which is sanctioned by the BWF.

In the second quarter-final of 2022 BWF Korea Open badminton, both Indian doubles teams were defeated by their Korean opponents. The lower-ranked local players stunned Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, as well as Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy in the women’s doubles.
Local team Kang Minhyuk and Seo Seungjae defeated third seed Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty 20-22, 21-18, 20-22. It was a one-hour and eighteen-minute marathon duel.
Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy, the top seeds in the women’s doubles, were also eliminated. In a 52-minute fight, world No. 20 Ashwini and Sikki Reddy, who had a bye in the first round, were defeated by the new Korean combination.
