The Maruzen Intec Arena in Osaka will host the 2022 Japan Open, a badminton competition with a $750,000 prize pool, from August 30 to September 4. In the absence of recently crowned world champion Viktor Axelsen, in-form Indian shuttler HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen will be eyeing the gold medal.

2022 Japan Open Badminton Men’s Singles First Round Draw, Fixtures, Players List
Lakshya Sen’s campaign in the men’s singles at 2022 Japan Open is set to start with a matchup against Kenta Nishimoto in the opening round. In the event, he is unseeded and is in the same quarter as second seed Kento Momota. Jonathan Cristie, the seventh seed, is the other seeded participant in his division. The second round is anticipated to feature a matchup between the two players.
Meanwhile, Srikanth Kidambi will face fifth-seeded Lee Zii Jia in a challenging first-round matchup. HS Prannoy, who advanced to the World Championships quarterfinals, will compete against Angus Ng Ka Long in the first round. Eighth seed Loh Kean Yew and fourth seed Chou Tien Chen are in the same bracket as Prannoy.

Points Award System
For the BWF World Tour Super 750 competition, points were distributed according to the BWF point distribution system. According to rules, men’s Singles competition winner will receive 11,000 BWF points; runner-up will receive 2,660 points. The vast number of points up for grabs will definitely motivate athletes aiming to advance in the BWF World Rankings.
