2022 Indonesia Open Badminton Men’s Singles First Round Results, Scores, Winners, And Fixtures
Lakshya Sen, the world No. 8, was knocked out of the Indonesia Open on Wednesday after losing to compatriot H S Prannoy in an all-India second round match. In a men’s singles match that lasted little over half an hour, Sen was soundly defeated by Prannoy 10-21, 9-21. Surprisingly, this was Prannoy’s first victory over Sen in their three head-to-head clashes.
In the game between Sen and Prannoy, the former was no match for the tenacious Prannoy, who, although losing 3-6 at one point, made a great comeback thanks to several clutch smashes. The 29-year-old eventually built a 21-10 advantage and took the first game.
Prannoy picked up where he left off in the second game, taking a commanding 11-3 lead. Sen was anticipated to make a comeback after falling behind, but Prannoy’s unplayable cross-court smashes made it difficult for him.
