With a 21-15 21-8 win over the Indo-US combo of Ishika Jaiswal and Srivedya Gurazada in the inaugural round of Indonesia Open, Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy advanced to the pre-quarterfinals in the women’s doubles. Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto’s mixed doubles team suffered a painful loss in the first round, falling 14-21 11-21 to Chang Tak Ching and NG Wing Yung Hong of Hong Kong in just 32 minutes.

The duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy will face top-seed and title favorite Chinese duo of Chen QC and Jia YF.
