The BWF Indonesia Masters Badminton 2022 is an upcoming badminton BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament set to begin from Tuesday, we take a look at the Men’s Singles category players, schedule draw, seeded players

The 2022 Indonesia Masters will be the tenth tournament on the BWF World Tour in 2022, and it will be part of the Indonesia Masters championships, which have been held since 2010. The Indonesian Badminton Association will host the competition, which will be sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation.

The tournament will be held in Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Indonesia. Indonesia Masters will begin from June 7th and run till June 12th, 2022, with a total prize pool of $360,000. Tickets were sold out in the tailend of May.

June 7th- June 8th: First-round matches will begin at 9:30am local time

9th June: Second-round matches will begin

June 10: Quarter-finals begin

11th June: Semi-finals begin

June 12: Finals begin

In the men’s singles category, Viktor Axelsen is the top-seed and favorite to win the title alongside in-form Indian ace Lakshya Sen and reigning champion Kento Momota.

No. 9 in the world Lakshya Sen, who is seeded eighth in the tournament, is the Indian ace in the men’s draw. In the first round, Lakshya will compete against Hans-Kristian Vittinghus of Denmark. If he goes through then in the second round, he’ll likely face compatriot HS Prannoy, as both Indians are in the same bracket. Prannoy opens his campaign against Rasmus Gemke of Denmark.

Unseeded Parupalli Kashyap, who will face Chinese Taipei’s Wang Tzu-wei in the first round, is among the other Indians in the draw. In the men’s singles, Sameer Verma is the other Indian. In the first round, he will face a qualifier winner.

Prize Money Pool Distribution

The 2022 Indonesia Masters will have a total prize fund of US$360,000, which will be distributed according to BWF criteria. According to the rules, the winner of the singles category will get $27,000 in prize money.
