2023 India Open final day results, scores, winners, & list of champions
On Sunday, fans saw number of surprising results as eighth-seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn put a brake to the red-hot form of top-seed Viktor Axelsen and clinch the India Open title following a hard-fought win via score of 22-20, 10-21, 21-12. Similarly in women’s singles final, the reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi succumbed to defeat against second-seed An Se-young, who overcome the setback of losing the first set to emerge victorious by score of 15-21, 21-16, 21-12.
Elsewhere in the men’s doubles final, unseeded Chinese duo Liang Weikeng & Wang Chang avenged their last week’s Malaysia Open final defeat by winning against the world champion pair of Aaron Chia & Soh Wooi Yik by scores of 14-21, 21-19, 21-18. Despite the intense contest in these three finals, fans were left disappointed as women’s doubles final along with mixed doubles final saw withdrawal of Chinese shuttlers duo to unforeseen circumstances.
