Angus Ng Ka-long earned his spot in the 2022 Hylo Open second-round after defeating Lakshya Sen in straight sets. In a similar vein, Loh Kean Yew, a former world champion, has also guaranteed his spot in Thursday’s second-round matches. There, he will face Kanta Tsuneyama in a rematch of last week’s French Open.

2022 Hylo Open is the nineteenth tournament of 2022 BWF World Tour and will be hosted by collaboration of German organizer with BWF. Currently, this prestigious BWF World Tour Super 300 competition is taking place in Germany’s Saarbrücken at the Saarlandhalle.

2022 Hylo Open Badminton Men’s Singles Results Today, Score, Winners, & Upcoming Draw

During Tuesday’s first-round matches, seventh-seeded Indian ace Lakshya Sen crashed out after losing in straight-sets by score of 12-21, 5-21 against unseeded Angus Ng Ka-long. Elsewhere, third-seeded Taiwanese ace secured straight-set victory against Chinese shuttler Zhao Junpeng by score of 21-12, 21-16. On Thursday, Chou will play his second-round match against Kanta Tsuneyama, while sixth-seeded Vitidsarn will resume campaign against Lee Cheuk Yiu.

During Wednesday’s first-round matches of 2022 Hylo Open, Indian superstar Kidambi Srinath will compete against Chinese shuttler Lu Guangzu. In another match, in-form HS Prannoy will square up against Indonesian shuttler Rhustavito to start his Hylo Open campaign. Additionally, in a challenging matchup, Sameer Verma will compete against sixth-seeded Jonatan Christie. Points Award System

According to BWF Points System, the winner of men’s singles competition at the 2022 Hylo Open, which is one of the BWF World Tour Super 300 tournaments, will receive 7,000 BWF points, and the runner-up will receive 5,950 points. Chou Tien-chen and Loh Kean Yew have a good opportunity to rack up huge amount of BWF points from this competition and move up in the BWF World Rankings owing to absence of top-ranked stars in Hylo Open.

Prize Money Pool Distribution

According to official BWF announcement, the $180,000 total prize pool for 2022 Hylo Open will include $13,500 for the winner of men’s singles category. Additionally, the men’s singles runner-up will receive total of $6,840 as opposed to each semi-finalist’s $2,610 prize money. Lakshya Sen will go home without any prize money after being eliminated in the first round.
