On Thursday, Lee Zii Jia abruptly crashed out from the German Open after falling to Chia Hao Lee by the score of 21-15, 20-22, & 21-23. At this BWF World Tour Super 300 event, the World No. 4 player from Malaysia originally appeared to be in commanding form, winning the first game in just 15 minutes with a run of nine consecutive points. Unfortunately, his Taiwanese opponent’s incredible comeback caused him to lose the match. Malaysian Lee will regret missing the chance to reach his first quarterfinal in six World Tour events, while Chia Hao Lee will prepare to play Lee Cheuk Yiu in the next round.
