Lakshya Sen of India will play fellow countryman Kidambi Srikanth in opening round of the men’s singles competition at 2022 French Open. In another match, HS Prannoy, who is currently in good form, will play Liew Daren to start his French Open campaign. During opening round of the French Open, Sameer Verma will face off against Indonesian star Anthony Ginting, who is seeded sixth.
Viktor Axelsen, the current world champion and top seed, is the clear favourite according to bookies, but Loh Kean Yew, the former world champion who defeated him in Denmark Open, will provide stiff challenge. The sole French player in men’s singles competition is Toma Junior Popov, who will open his campaign against Wang Tzu-wei. Shi Yuqi, winner of recently finished Denmark Open, will compete against Thammasin in the first round, with a probable matchup against Axelsen in the second-round.
Fans are unsure about the men’s singles category’s chances for medals due to the presence of all top-ranked players and the unfavorable draw for Indian shuttlers. Tickets can be bought from here.
