During first day of women’s singles event at 2022 Denmark Open, all seeded players secured straight set victories in their respective ties and advanced to Round of 16. On Wednesday, Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal will begin her campaign with a first-round match against Zhang Yiman.

The renowned 2022 Denmark Open badminton tournament with a $750,000 prize pool is taking place from October 18 to October 23 at the Arena Fyn in Odense, Denmark. Akane Yamaguchi and Carolina Marin both began their 2022 Denmark Open campaigns on a high note and secured spots in the Round of 16 stage with decisive victory.

2022 Denmark Open Badminton Women’s Singles Results Today, Score, Winners, & Upcoming Draw

On the inaugural day of 2022 Denmark Open, reigning world champion and top-seed Akane Yamaguchi started her campaign in style with a straight set victory over local-favorite Line Kjærsfeldt by score of 21-11, 21-10. Following her win, Akane has advanced to Round of 16 where she will clash against Chinese Wang Zhiyi.

Similarly, former world champion Carolina Marin started her 2022 Denmark Open campaign with straight set victory against Mia Blichfeldt. During this tie, the Dane shuttler was buoyed by home-crowd but failed to compete evenly against aggressive play of Marin. Next in Round of 16, the Spanish shuttler will face Chinese Han Yue.

Saina Nehwal, the lone Indian participant in the women’s singles competition at the 2022 Denmark Open, may have a challenging second-round matchup against Ratchanok Intanon, the fifth-seeded player. As per draw, Saina Nehwal will face Chinese shuttler Zhang Yiman in the opening round. Points Award System

2022 Denmark Open, a BWF World Tour Super 750 competition, will award points based on the BWF point system. The winner of women’s singles competition will receive 11,000 BWF points using this system, while the runner-up will receive 9,350 points. In order to move up in the BWF World Rankings, third-seed Chen Yufei and former world champion Carolina Marin have a fantastic chance to accumulate many BWF points from this competition.

Prize Money Pool Distribution
