In the women’s quarterfinals of Badminton Asia Championships, second seed An Se Young defeated Indian PV Sindhu, 18-21, 21-5, 21-9. Tai Tzu Ying, the fourth seed, also overcame a deficit to defeat He Bing Jiao, the fifth-ranked player in the world, 14-21, 21-16, 21-18. Gregoria Mariska Tunjung was defeated by Chen Yu Fei, the third seed, 10-21, 21-19, 13-21. After defeating Wang Zhi Yi by scores of 13-21, 21-14, & 21-17, world number one Akane Yamaguchi completes the field for the semifinal.
At the Badminton Asia Championships 2023, Loh Kean Yew maintained his impressive form by defeating Lee Cheuk Yiu in the quarterfinal. On court one of the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall, the Singaporean triumphed in straight games, 21-19, 21-19. Lu Guang Zu of China, who defeated fourth seed Kodai Naraoka 21-14, 20-22, 21-9 in the last eight, will be Loh’s next opponent. After his Indian opponent HS Prannoy retired in the second game of their match, Kanta Tsuneyama of Japan also advanced to the semifinals.

2023 Badminton Asia Championships: prize money distribution
According to BWF regulations, each singles category winner of the 2023 Badminton Asia Championships will get $30,000 from the $400,000 total prize fund. Furthermore, the singles runner-up will receive $15,200 whereas the losers in the semifinals would only receive $5,800. PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy, who lost their respective quarterfinal matches, will each get $2,400 in prize money.
