BWF 2022 Women’s Singles Badminton Rankings Top 20 List And Points

The former world champion, P.V. Sindhu remained at her seventh position. While Taiwan’s Tai Tzu topped the women’s singles BWF rankings for 2022 with 108800 points

Thailand’s Ongbamrungphan Busanan climbed one spot up with 68954. Canada’s Li Michelle went one spot down with 68845 points. Yeo Jia Min of Singapore climbed one spot up to the 16th position. while Wang Zhi Yi of China went to 17th position. The 20th position is static with South Korea’s Kim Ga Eun.

1) Tai Tzu Ying– The Taiwanese became World’s no 1 age of 22  in the women’s singles in December 2016. She also holds the record for being the only player to rank at the top in the women’s singles in BWF history with 185 weeks, as of 12 October 2021.

2) Yamaguchi Akane – Currently ranked number 2 at the BWF World Championship. She won gold in the women’s singles at the 2021 BWF World Championships. She was also part of the winning Japanese team at the Asian Junior Championships in 2012 along with many other various women’s singles titles afterward. She has crowned the World Junior Championships in 2013 and 2014, the Asian Junior Championships in 2014, and the Asian Championships in 2019.

3) Chen Yu Fei – She came to the limelight after winning the girls’ singles junior titles at 2016 Asian and the World Junior Championships. In that same year, Chen won her first senior title at the Macau Open

4) An Se Young – The current Number 4 from South Korea was awarded the Most Promising Player of the Year 2019 by the BWF. She also helped the team to win a Uber Cup bronze. She won the BWF World Tour title at the Super 300 New Zealand Open by beating the 2012 Olympic gold medalists Li Xuerui of China in the final

5) Okuhara Nozomi – A former World’s No. 1 in BWF rankings for the women’s singles is now at the 5th rank. She has won the prestigious All England Open Championship win in 2016, 2021 respectively. She also has a bronze at the 2016 Summer Olympics and, a gold medal at the 2017 World Championships to her name.

 6) Marin Carolina – The Spanish badminton player is an Olympic Champion, three-time World Champion, five-time European Champion, and the former World’s No. 1 in BWF rankings for the women’s singles discipline, she also had the record of holding the World No. 1 title for 66 weeks. She is also considered one of the best athletes in the world.

7) Sindhu Pusarla Venkata – One of the most successful sportspeople from India. She has won the Olympics. In the BWF circuit, she won gold at the 2019 World Championships. She is the only Indian to become the Badminton World Champion and only the second individual athlete from India to win two consecutive medals at the Olympic Games.

8) Intanon Ratchanok – She was the first Thai to become No.1 in women’s singles. In 2013, she became world champion in women’s singles 2013.

9)He Bing Jiao – She made her first senior international debut during the 2013 Vietnam Open. In 2014 she competed at the Summer Youth Olympics where she won a gold medal in the girls’ singles and a bronze in the mixed doubles event

10) Chochuwong Pornpawee – Pornpawee in 2015 was the girls’ singles silver medalist at the Asian and, 2016 World Junior Championships. In 2020 Spain Masters, Chochuwong won her first World Tour title beating the Olympic champion Carolina Marín in the final.
