Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos was arrested on a misdemeanor charge on Thursday following a disagreement with his girlfriend Antoinette Tharp at their suburban Denver home
He is being held at the Arapahoe County Jail, which is next to the team’s training complex.
Broncos Jerry Jeudy Fought With His Baby Mama, Antoinette Tharp After She Discovered HJe Had 3 Phones
This is what occurred:
According to a police record filed in Arapahoe County court, Jeudy’s girlfriend, Antoinette Tharp, told a deputy that “things went wild” with Jeudy on Wednesday night. And that he locked her wallet and medical documentation for their baby kid in his car at their home so she couldn’t access them.
She stated that she wanted to return to Virginia but was unable to do so without her stuff, assuring the deputy that she did not want to get Jeudy in “trouble,” but only wanted her items returned.
According to the statement, Jeudy acknowledged locking several items, including baby formula, in his car because Tharp seized one of his three cell phones and refused to return it.
Details:
Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown stated that Jeudy was cooperative during his arrest. And that there was no physical violence engaged in the event. He stated that Jeudy would be jailed overnight and would appear in court on Friday morning.
Jeudy was arrested on charges of misdemeanor second-degree criminal tampering with a domestic-violence enhancement.
Domestic violence enhancers are added to cases where the victim has or has intimate contact with the perpetrator. Jeudy couldn’t be freed on bail until she appeared before a court because of the domestic violence enhancement, she explained.
Brown, who described the accusation as a “very low-level misdemeanor,” said he called the press conference to clarify a few items. Including the absence of physical violence.
“The second part of this is a domestic violence enhancer. And I understand that the word ‘violence’ connotes physical contact.” I can expressly state that no physical contact occurred between Mr. Jeudy and the female party throughout this inquiry. “It was all about property,” Brown explained.
“There was no property damage,” the sheriff noted. “All that happened was that there was an accusation of property theft. And deputies judged that there was sufficient probable cause to make an arrest.”
Two phones are understandable. One for work and one for personal use, but it was the third phone. It was most likely the IG models, that got him in trouble.
