The 2022 BRICS Games will be held from September 1 to 30, and athletes from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa will compete online, organizers revealed on Thursday. Breakdancing, chess, and Wushu will be medal events at the 2022 BRICS Games, while yoga, dragon & lion dance, dragon boat racing, Brazil jiu-jitsu, sambo, and Dibeke will be featured in the tournament as demonstration events. The General Administration of Sport in China’s Gao Zhidan stated his belief in the BRICS Games, which can strengthen unity between participant countries, advance peace, and spur growth.

As the 14th BRICS Summit was hosted in China in June, China was selected as the host for BRICS games. A digital version of the competition, according to China’s minister of sports Gao Zhidan, can promote intercultural dialogue and safe, innovative people-to-people contacts between the competing nations.

How to Participate in 2022 BRICS Games, List of Sports, And Medal Events?

The portal for registration, video uploads, scoring, judging, and result releases was activated by the organizers on Wednesday. Along with the three competitive events, the website also features demonstrations of ancient sports including yoga from India, dragon boat racing from China, and jiujitsu from Brazil. On the platform, both professional athletes and enthusiasts can upload films and communicate with one another. The tournaments’ official registration period starts on August 15.
