Tom has been the architect of SRH’s success during the period of 2013-2019. In 2020 SRH sacked Tom Moody as the head coach of the team after 7 years of service and named Trevor Bayliss as the Head Coach. Now Sunrisers Hyderabad named Brain Lara as their New Head Coach for the IPL 2023.

SRH parted ways with Tom Moody after 9 years
Tom Moody has been with the franchise since thier debut season in 2013. Since then the Australian has stuck with SRH for various coaching roles till 2022. In 2019 Tom was replaced by World Cup-winning England team’s Head Coach Trevor Bayliss.
Trevor Coached the SRH team for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, on the other hand, Tom Moody was handed the role of Director in the orange army camp during that time. SRH did perform well in the first season under Bayliss as they finished in 3rd spot. Though the next season for Bayliss’s SRH was forgettable as they finished last on the Table in 2021. The awful season forced SRH to sack Bayliss and give back the reigns in the hands of Moody for the 2022 season.
Lara was named as Batting Coach of SRH for IPL 2022
One of the greatest Batsmen ever Brain Lara was handed over the role of Batting Coach in 2022. In that season SRH didn’t do any wonders as they failed to qualify for the playoffs. Lara’s presence did wonders to left-handed Indian youngster Abhishek Sharma as he was the highest run scorer for SRH in that tournament. Under Lara, the youngsters have been nurtured effectively.
Brain Lara will decide on Kane Williamson’s Captaincy role in the coming weeks
The SRH team is looking forward to a change and it won’t be a surprise for anyone if they sack Kane Williamson as the Captain of SRH. Kane has been Leading SRH since 2018. The last 2 years of SRH under Kane Williamson have been miserable. Kane has failed as a Batter and as a Captain both in the past couple of years. Sunrisers Hyderabad named Brain Lara as their New Head Coach and he will take some serious steps ahead of the IPL 2023.
While Lara’s salary is yet unknown, Tom Moody was paid Rs.2.5 crore as head coach per season.
