Boys Planet 999 profile of contestants who quit the show before ep 1

Over 90 contestants competed in Boys Planet 999 February 2 premiere, but according to sources, there were originally going to be more, know the profile of the name who weren’t there

Now that the programme has begun, let’s take a look at all the K-pop newcomers who left it early.

Boys Planet is promising an exciting lineup for a future boy group of 2023, ranging from Pentagon’s Hui, aka Lee Hoe Taek, to Kim Ji Woong. Sadly, several trainees had to leave even before their goal of making their K-pop debut in the show began.

Boys Planet Air Timing

Every Thursday at 8 p.m. KST, 6 a.m. ET, and 11 a.m. GMT, Boys Planet will be shown on Mnet, Mnet K-pop YouTube, and Naver TV. On MNET YouTube, all of Boys Planet’s highlights are available with English subtitles.

Participants Who Left Boys’ Planet Before It Began

Up to five Boys Planet contestants are said to have departed the show before it ever began, citing personal concerns. The information was relieved by the Korean media. 

The contestants who left the lineup before the concert began are:

  • Yeom Tae Gyun, a.k.a. CIIPHER’s TAG
  • Jo Eun Woo
  • Tao Yuan
  • Woollim Entertainment’s Jang Min Seo
  • Viral k-pop rookie Jung Hwan Rok

Yeom Tae Gyun, aka Ciipher’s Tag

Yeom Tae Gyun, better known by his stage name Tag, had his K-pop debut with the band Ciipher. The 21-year-old K-pop newcomer, who is signed to the Rain label, competed alongside fellow member Keita. Fans of the group, however, will miss Tag on the MNET programme because, according to sources, he quit for personal reasons.

Jang Min Seo

Boys Planet lost one of its well-liked cast members, Jang Min Seo, who was one of the first participants to be unveiled in the promotional material. Due to an alleged injury, the Woolim Entertainment trainee was unable to compete in the first round of the competition.

Jo Eun Woo

Jo Eun Woo was also scheduled to appear on Boys Planet, however, she departed the programme for unspecified reasons.

Tao Yuan

Newcomers to TAO YUAN OCJ Tao Yuan, aka Dowon, left Boys Planet before it started. If reports are to be believed, then the One Cool Jacso Entertainment student will make his or her XODIAC debut.

Jung Hwan Rok

As a “viral K-pop rookie,” Withus member Jung Hwan Rok, who has more than 160k fans, also departed the performance. Barricade is a song video by the band Withus, which features Jung Hwan Rok.
