The controversy started when Booker T claimed that the Black Ops publishers have used his character G.I Bro in the poster of the game. Furthermore, Activision released the poster in 2019 and the image released by the wrester was in 2015. Booker used the image to promote his comic G.I Bro and Dragon of Death.

Booker’s representative at the court said that When we the poster side-by-side there can be no question that this character was copied from G.I. Bro. His representative Micah Dortch also said that from the hair, body type, and clothing, right down to facial expressions, the similarities are too profound to be an accident.

Looking from the Activision side, they said that Booker has exaggerated the similarities between his character G.I Bro and between the poster of the game. They also claimed that the Booker image was uncopyrightable as they used the image of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson from the neck down.

And in results, the Jury favoured Activisison as Booker lacked pieces of evidence. E. Leon Carter of Carter Arnett, Trial Counsel for Activision Blizzard said that they are pleased with the outcome. The bottom line, to call this a frivolous case would be a massive understatement.
