Till the premiere of the Bleach Thousand Year Blood War it was not yet confirmed at a special pre-screening event that the anime would be broadcast around 4 different cours. The first episode aired in 2022 on the 11th of October. People who are waiting for it’s English dub will have to wait until 4th November as then the first episode will get dubbed.
A cour is a three-month programming block that most Western audiences are associate with broadcast seasons which is Winter (January to March), Spring (April to June), Summer (July to September), and Fall (October to December).
The lead voice actor is Morita Masakazu who joked during the event that it “might be another 10 years after the 1st course. But thankfully the new Bleach anime shouldn’t take an entire decade to finish the new story arc as the Anime News Network reports that there will be breaks in between each cour.
Most probably TYBW will have a total of 52 individual episodes with a total number of 13 episodes being broadcast per cour.
MyAnimeList presently labels the total number of episodes as ‘Unknown’ with the AnimeGeek noting how “the number of Bleach 2022 episodes has not yet been declared,” as of 14th of October. However the confirmation of a four-cour broadcast tells that the anime will have between 48th and 52nd episodes in accordance with the typical season length of 12 to 13 episodes.
