Adelaide Strikers batter Matthew Short stood out as the top scorer in this edition, aside from scoring the most number of sixes as well.
Big Bash League (BBL) 2023–24 final
Heading into the match, the Sydney Sixers won the toss and chose to bowl first. Brisbane Heat posted an impressive total of 166/8 in 20 overs, thanks to Josh Brown’s explosive 53 and Matt Renshaw’s 40. However, Sean Abbott came in clutch for the Sydney Sixers, claiming four wickets for 32 runs. As the Sixers chased a 167 for victory, they eventually fell under pressure, and Spencer Johnson’s four-wicket haul for the Heat restricted the Sixers to just 112 in 17.3 overs. Despite Moises Henriques scoring 25, the Sixers couldn’t match the required run rate, and the Brisbane Heat ultimately emerged victorious. The team secured the win by 54 runs to clinch the BBL 2023-24 title.
