A staggering amount of at least $5.820 million (£4.609 million, €5.391 million) was spent during the draft, reflecting the high stakes and intense competition among the franchises. Hobart Hurricanes led the spending spree, while the Perth Scorchers, for the second consecutive year, decided to pass in the first round, opting for a more conservative approach.
Melbourne Stars initially picked Rashid Khan but Adelaide Strikers retained him, so the Stars added Harry Brook, Haris Rauf, and Usama Mir.
