According to new information released Tuesday in court documents. Former NBA player Ben Gordon is accused of punching his 10-year-old son multiple times in the face. Because the boy dropped a book at LaGuardia Airport.

The criminal complaint says that an American Airlines worker told police. That she saw the former shooting guard punch the boy. And yell at him after the boy dropped a book on the floor at LaGuardia Airport on Monday night.

Ben Gordon, who is 39, was charged in Queens Criminal Court on Tuesday night. With two counts of assault in the second degree, two counts of assault in the third degree. And criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal contempt in the second degree. Also endangering the welfare of a child, attempted assault in the third degree, and resisting arrest.

Bail was set by Judge Edwin Novillo at $20,000 in cash, a $50,000 insurance bond, or a $50,000 partially secured bond at 10% of the total amount.

Ben Gordonย from Mount Vernon, who made about $84 million during his NBA career, couldn’t pay bail right away, so he will spend the night at Rikers Island. By morning, he should have paid bail and be free to go.

When one of the Port Authority police tried to handcuff Gordon, the complaint says he “flashed his arms and twisted his body” and told the officers, “I’m not going with you.”

Later, when the two officers tried to get the 6-foot-3 basketball player into their patrol car, he pushed against them, the document says, hurting one officer’s knee and the other’s arm and wrist.
