After mailing the local municipal attorney, Stefanie Stalheim a s*xually graphic video, a mayor named Tom Ross in the United States resigned
During his lunch break, Tom Ross, the now-former mayor of Minot, North Dakota, ‘mistakenly’ sent City Attorney Stefanie Stalheim a video of himself m*sturbating.
“I accept responsibility for my error. I attempted to fix it right away, but I couldn’t,” Ross told KFYR TV in a statement. He added that he intended to send his girlfriend the footage.

Ross’s resignation came over three months after the incident, on the same day an investigation report into the case was made public. He said he had not resigned earlier “to respect the process,” AP reported.
Tom Ross texted City Attorney Stefanie Stalheim a video of himself m*sturbating in January. Minutes after the two spoke on the phone about a police officer’s suicide, he sent her the footage.
When age 60 Ross described the content of the video he was asking her to delete, which she hadn’t yet seen, age 40 city attorney Ms Stalheim said she “physically collapsed and fell out of her chair” due to the “combined stress” of receiving a video of the lewd act shortly after learning of the officer’s death.
When she went to delete the video, she caught a glimpse of Ross’s erect p*nis.
Ross told Stalheim that he recorded the video for his girlfriend on his lunch break and later told city investigators that his girlfriend’s name also begins with the letter ‘C,’ which is why the vulgar video was sent to a contact saved as ‘City Attorney’. Stalheim had filed an official harassment report two weeks later, asking for a formal apology from the mayor and requesting he consider resigning.
The investigation report states that Ross attempted to resolve the issue by asking Stalheim to remove the video and refrain from seeing it. It has also been alleged that he begged her to keep this private.
According to the AP, Ross told an interviewer that he had shot the video during his lunch break at home and intended to send it to his girlfriend rather than Stalheim. It has been described as “a s*xy video for his girlfriend.”
The AP story claims that because Ross was her immediate boss and her annual evaluation was still pending, Stalheim’s lacked the guts to file a formal complaint.
Ross’s actions “directly caused Stalheim’s inability to work in an environment free from unreasonable s*xual harassment and created an offensive work environment,” according to the results of the investigation.
The city of Minot will now have a 15-day period in which residents can petition to hold a special election and if no such petition emerges, the Minot City Council will appoint a mayor from within the governing body.
Tom Ross’ resignation
Following a brief s*xual harassment probe, Tom Ross resigned as mayor of the 50,000-person city of Minot, North Dakota, on Tuesday.
Tom Ross said in a statement, “I do take responsibility for this mistake. I tried to immediately correct it and was unable. The decision I made falls in line with all my work on behalf of the City of Minot. I put my heart and soul into this community.”
