Barcelona has exceeded the salary limit of players in La Liga and now they have to loan out and sell some key players
Barcelona’s season 2020-21 was not a good one as they bottled the La Liga title. Moreover, they were also knocked out from the Champions League in the Round of 16. The Spanish Club finished 3rd in the league and were close to win the title. However, the good thing was, they scored a huge number of goals and the team was the top scorer in the league.
The Spanish Club is all set to start the new season with some fresh legs and new players in the camp. But, we might see a salary cut of some of their important players as Barcelona has exceeded the salary limit and cap set by La Liga.
How Barcelona Salary Limit Will Affect Their Transfers For The 2021-22 Season
The team Barcelona have some huge names in their squad with a long list of injury or in bad form. Furthermore, players like Pjanic and Coutinho were not given enough time on the pitch and faced several injuries. Both of them are world-class players with huge salaries. So, to avoid the salary limit the Catalonian club will try to get rid of them.
Umtiti is also on the list along with his national teammate Dembele to be sold. Both of the players had a long history of injuries at the club. Additionally, Barca is also selling their young players in order to save their salaries. Firpo Junior and Trincao are going to the Premier League and Firpo’s transfer will save them around £8m per season.
Barcelona Transfer News
Coutinho, Umtiti, and Pjanic are on the transfer list and their transfer must save Barca a huge amount of £200 million. Also, they have sold and loaned out some of their youngsters and still have to reduce their wages by €200,000.
Barcelona cannot register any new signings, not Memphis Depay, Sergio Agüero, Eric García or Emerson Royal, after exceeding the La Liga salary limit.
Despite selling Konrad de la Fuente, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Junior Firpo, Barcelona need to reduce their wage bill by €200,000.
