Indian lineup for the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships, which will take place in Dubai from February 14–19, was released on Wednesday, and it is anticipated that double-Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and world No. 8 HS Prannoy would lead a strong Indian delegation. With their announcement, Badminton Association of India stated in a statement that they once again used the system of selecting a few of the top players directly while holding trials for the rest of the squad to select a team that is capable of contending for a medal in the prestigious continental competition.
Lakshya Sen has been selected to represent India in men’s singles matches alongside HS Prannoy. Meanwhile, India’s best-ranked doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Ranikreddy & Chirag Shetty will be the flag bearers in the men’s doubles category. Elsewhere in the women’s doubles, Treesa Jolly & Gayatri Gopichand will be the representatives alongside pair of Ashwini Bhat & Shikha Gautam.

Indian selection trials for 2023 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships
For India’s 14-player squad, the remaining spots were selected through trials, which was scheduled from 2nd-3rd January at New Delhi. Saina Nehwal had been invited to the selection trials of Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships after her disappoint run last season saw her drop in the BWF World Rankings.
Despite the final chance given to her, Saina Nehwal withdrew from the trials to forfeit her qualification chances. After numerous stars including Malvika Bansod and Saina Nehwal quit from the trials, it became one-day affair with Aakarshi Kashyap making the cut alongside Krishna Prasad Garga & Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala, and Ishaan Bhatnagar & Tanisha Crasto.

The Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships is scheduled to be held in Dubai from February 14 to 19.
