At the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships on Tuesday, India defeated Kazakhstan 5-0 to earn a whitewash victory. During the opener, Ishaan Bhatnagar & Tanisha Crasto’s mixed doubles duo defeated Kazakhstan’s Makhsut Tadzhibullaev & Nargiza Rakhmetullayeva 21-5, 21-11 to bag 1-0 lead. HS Prannoy defeated Dmitriy Panarin in the men’s singles match by score of 21-9, 21-11 to win the second match and make it 2-0 for India.

Meanwhile, PV Sindhu’s 21-4, 21-12 in the women’s singles match allowed India to claim a uncatchable 3-0 lead. Ultimately, India finished the match with a flawless score-line of 5-0 in their favor.

Thanks to the skill of World No. 4 Lee Zii Jia on Tuesday, Malaysia got off to a strong start at the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship 2023. In barely 30 minutes, the World No. 4 in men’s singles defeated local shuttler Bharath Latheesh 21-12, 21-15 to give the defending champions an overall lead of 1-0. Goh Jin Wei dispatched Madhumitha Sundarapandian in the women’s singles match in in 19 minutes, winning 21-0, 21-7.

In the men’s doubles match, Ong Yew Sin & Teo Ee Yi defeated Dev Ayyappan & Dhiren Ayyappan 21-11, 21-13 to make it 3-0 for Malaysia. Sanika Dhawan Gurav & Taabia Khan were defeated by Tan Pearly & Thinnaah Muralitharan of Malaysia in the women’s doubles match. During the mixed doubles match of Malaysia vs. UAE, Tan Kian Meng & Lai Pei Jing won against Dev Vishnu & Aleena Qathun by scores of 21-9, 21-8. 21-10, 21-9.
