2023 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships: India vs Malaysia result, winner, standings, score, & match summary

World No. 9 HS Prannoy, the top-ranked male badminton player in India, defeated Asian champion Lee Zii Jia by score of 18-21, 21-13, & 25-23 while competing at the Dubai Exhibition Centre to give India an early lead. As Malaysia elected not to field champion of the Youth Olympic Games Goh Jin Wei in the women’s singles, PV Sindhu entered the court and doubled India’s lead by defeating Malaysian adolescent Wong Ling Ching 21-13, 21-17.

Chirag Shetty & Dhruv Kapila, India’s temporary men’s doubles team, sought to defeat Aaron Chia & Soh Wooi Yik, however, the Malaysian duo exploited their expertise to easily win 21-16, 21-10 that spearheaded Malaysia’s comeback in the match. Later, Indian pair Gayatri Gopichand & Treesa Jolly defeated the world No. 5 Malaysian team of Pearly Tan & Thiinaah Muralitharan by score of 23-21, 21-15. Against strong opposition from Chen Tang Jie & Toh Ee Wei, the mixed doubles team of Ishaan Bhatnagar & Tanisha Crasto managed to win 21-19, 19-21, 21-16 before clinching the match in favor of India.
