2023 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships: India vs China semi-final result, winner, score, & match summary
Following HS Prannoy’s 13-21, 15-21 loss against Lei Lan Xi in the first match of semi-final tie and P V Sindhu’s 9-21, 21-16, 18-21 loss to Gao Fang Jie in the women’s singles clash, India found themselves behind 0-2. However, India’s doubles category participants performed much better to put India back on equal footing. In the women’s doubles tie, Treesa Jolly & Gayatri Gopichand upset Liu Sheng Shu & Tan Ning 21-18, 13-21, 21-19 to force a decider. Earlier, men’s doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila & Chirag Shetty defeated Ji Ting & Zhou Hao Dong by score of 21-19,21-19.
During the decisive clash, Ishaan Bhatnagar & Tanisha Crasto were expected to guide India into the final but, Jiang Zhen Bang & Wei Ya Xin proved to be too powerful, winning 21-17, 21-13 in just 34 minutes. After their statement victory against India, top-seed China has qualified for the final and are scheduled to face-off against South Korea in Sunday’s final.
