The 2022 Badminton Asia Championships is a badminton tournament that will take place from April 26 to May 1, 2022 at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Muntinlupa, Philippines, with a total prize money of $400,000.

29th April: Quarter-finals begin from 1:30 PM IST
April 30: Semi-finals begin from 10:30 AM IST

The unseeded Li Shi Feng of China startled Lakshya Sen. In a 56-minute first-round men’s singles encounter, the fifth-seeded Indian lost 21-12 10-21 19-21. World No. 19 Sai Praneeth lost to Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in straight games, 17-21 13-21.
Kidambi Srikanth, on the other hand, kept the Indian flag flying in the men’s singles competition by advancing to the second round with a straight-game victory over Malaysia’s Tze Yong Ng. Srikanth overcame his opponent 22-20 21-15 to go to the second round of 2022 Badminton Asian Championship, where he will face Chinese qualifier Weng Hong Yang.
