On Saturday, Akane Yamaguchi of Japan won the women’s singles semi-finals of the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Manila, Philippines, 21-13, 19-21, 16-21. India’s individual continental championship challenge has come to an end with Sindhu’s defeat.
On Sunday, Yamaguchi will face China’s Wang Zhi Yi. In an hour and three minutes, the world No. 16 Chinese defeated Korea’s second seed An Seyoung 10-21, 21-12, 21-16. Wang’s victory over the young Korean was his first in four confrontations.
