2022 Australian Open Badminton Women’s Singles Results Today, Score, Winners, & Round of 16 Draw
During her first-round match at 2022 Australian Open badminton, Anwesha Gowda dominated her Australian opponent Viravong to win in straight-set by score of 21-9, 21-11. On Thursday, Anwesha will play Malaysian Goh, who defeated Indian shuttler Tany Hemanth with ease to book her own berth in second-round. Elsewhere, third-seed Pornpawee Chochuwong and fourth-seed Nozomi Okuhara sealed their berth in Thursday’s Round of 16 matches after winning their respective first-round ties.
On Wednesday, top-seeded An Se-young easily dispatched Taiwanese Sung by score of 21-14, 21-13 to qualify for second-round at Australian Open. During this match, top-seeded Lee dominated from very start and never really seemed in trouble against inexperienced Sung. This victory sets up a tantalizing matchup between Japanese shuttler Asuka Takahashi and An. In another first-round match on Wednesday, eighth-seed Yeo Jia Min was defeated in straight-set by score of 6-21, 12-21 against Taiwanese Pai Yu Po.
