The sixth edition of the tournament played on red soil is back with World No. 1 back on the court. The Serbian is the most successful player of the tournament having won two titles here and is contending for his third on home soil.

1. Novak Djokovic

The Serb had early exits this year but it matters less as he only appeared for two tournaments and still managed to stay on top of the ATP rankings.  We know his potential, the player won three Grand Slams last year and was unstoppable.

No. 1 in the World, Djokovic is the most favourite player of the tournament and is looking to win his third on home ground.

2. Andrey Rublev

Rublev had a pretty good season so far having already clinched the Dubai Tennis Championships and reached the last four of the Indian Wells Masters 2022 before he lost to the winner of the tournament Taylor Fritz.

No. 6 with some good level of advancement also aas a finalist at this year’s Open 13 before Felix Auger-Aliassime dusted him off for the title. The Canadian also defeated Rublev in the semifinals of the Rotterdam.

The Russian overcame some quality players this season and fans expect him to continue his good run at the Serbia Open as well.

3. Roman Safiullin

Roman Safiullin started his 2022 tennis season by reaching the semifinals of the ATP Cup before losing to Denis Shapovalov. He also advanced last same level at Open 13 losing to another Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. The player had defeated players like Jannik Sinner and Stefanos Tsitsipas respectively to reach the last four of the tournaments.

Safiullin was also the semifinalist at the Challenger Pau, Fr and is expected to continue with a better form on red clay.

4. Karen Khachanov

Started his tennis season this year with a fire advancement to the final of the Adelaide International 1 before he lost the title to Gael Monfils. He then reached the last eight of the Adelaide International 2. The Russian had some tough fixtures against players like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Diego Schwartzman, and Cameron Norrie that affected his advancement in other tournaments. He also reached the last four of the Qatar Open before he lost to Roberto Bautista Agut.

Khachanov is one of the favourite contenders at the ATP 250 event.

5. Miomir Kecmanovic

Miomir has shown some stunning moves following his outstanding win over Richard Gasquet and is considered one of the favourite local tennis players.
