The Asian Cricket Council (ACC), which organizes the Asia Cup 2023 have finally confirmed the dates for the upcoming tournament along with other details including hybrid model venues, format, groups, teams, and schedule
The 2023 Asia Cup is set to be the 16th edition of the Asia Cup, with all matches to be played in the One Day Internationals format.

Ahead of the tournament, the ACC have confirmed that the Asia Cup 2023 tournament will follow a hybrid model. As such, tournament will start with four matches taking place in Pakistan before moving to Sri Lanka for the remaining nine matches.
India is currently slated to play its Asia Cup 2023 matches in Sri Lanka. As of now, the ACC haven’t revealed the full schedule, fixtures and timings for the tournament.
Asia Cup 2023 dates
The ACC have confirmed the dates for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 tournament to be between August 31 and September 17.
Asia Cup 2023 competition preview
Going into the competition, Nepal are making their maiden appearance after recently qualifying for the continental tournament this year. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will be looking to retain their 2022 Asia Cup win after beating Pakistan in the final last year in the United Arab Emirates. Team India are grouped alongside Pakistan and Nepal in the league stage. On the other hand, the second group features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
Asia Cup 2023 format
The Asia Cup 2023 will feature a total of six teams – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal. The teams are divided into two groups from where the top two teams from each group will move into the Super Four round-robin stage. Following this round, the two teams will then proceed to the final to decide the winner. All the matches will follow the ODI format.

As per Cricbuzz, India and Pakistan would be placed in the same group to ensure potentially three matches between the arch-rivals and Cricket Pakistan reported Pakistan’s games against Nepal and Bangladesh, Afghanistan versus Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka versus Bangladesh are likely to be played in Lahore.
