The top 2 teams of both teams will compete in the super 4. This year’s Super 4 format is different from others. With two wins on the bounce, Afghanistan have qualified for the stage.

The top 6 teams of Asia are divided into 2 groups named A and B
Both groups have 3 teams each. In group A Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka will compete against each other. In group B world no.1 India and World no. 3 Pakistan will play up against each other along with the qualifier team Hong Kong. The top 2 teams in the table of each group will progress through to the Super 4 stage and the least point team will get eliminated.
Afghanistan has already secured its place in the Super 4 of Asia Cup 2022 from group A. They have won both of their group games against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Now it will be an eliminator between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the last game of group A on Thursday.
Pakistan to play a must-win game against Hong Kong on Friday
After facing a defeat against India on Sunday Pakistan will be now under pressure against Hong Kong. Pakistan cannot afford a mistake against Hong Kong in the last game of group B. If they lose against Hong Kong on Friday their Asia Cup campaign will be over.
Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 format Explained
The top 2 teams of each group will be in one single pool. Then these 4 teams will play against each other once in the super 4 stage. One team will play 3 matches in the super 4 stages. The 2 teams who have the highest points among the super 4 teams will play the final on the 11th of September.
