He is a professional Indian rower who belongs to the Khabra village of Bulandshahr, a district in Uttar Pradesh. Arvind Singh is from a family of farmers. Arvind Singh represented India internationally in lightweight double sculls in Olympics. He was introduced to rowing while he was serving in the Indian Army. Arvind Singh was having a keen interest in cricket and athletics.

Arvind was qualified for the 2020 Olympics Games after finishing second at the Asia/Oceania Continental Qualifying Regatta event held in Tokyo in Japan. On the issuing of Asian and Oceania Qualification Regatta spots, Arvind Singh represented Indian Rowing Team at the Men’s Lightweight double sculls Event at the Summer Olympics 2020 held in Tokyo in Japan.

In the year 2018 Singh and Arjun Jat were selected up as the reserves for Jakarta Asian Games and when Rohith Kumar and Bhagawan Singh won the bronze in the lightweight double sculls. In the following year, Arvind and Arjun achieved their first international medal by taking home a Silver medal at the Asian Rowing Championships held at Chungju, in South Korea.
In the year 2021 Arvind and Arjun Jat booked their Places in the Olympics, in lightweight double sculls at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after ending up at a second place, at the Asian qualifying competition held in Tokyo in Japan. Later, Arvind Singh and Arjun Lal Jat both were trained at Army Sports Institute in Pune.
