Premier League Transfer News 2021-22: Arsenal to spend £30million on Aaron Ramsdale?
23-year-old English goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale began his career in the youth academy of Sheffield United and quickly moved up the ranks earning a promotion to the first team. However, his short-lived joy was plagued by injuries because of which, he was not able to establish himself on the teamsheet.
Subsequently, he left the club in 2017 in search of regular football and joined the Premier League club Bournemouth. He was loaned out for the next two seasons to gain some experience and hopefully grow more mature.
Turning Point
His successful loan spell with League One club AFC Wimbledon helped his cause and was called back by Bournemouth to feature in the Premier League. Aaron Ramsdale performed exceptionally well in his debut season in the Premier League featuring in 37 games.
In 2020, Sheffield United secured the signing of Ramsdale on a 4-year deal for a transfer fee of around £18.5 million. He quickly became the first-choice goalkeeper and featured in all the 38 Premier League games for the club and became Sheffield United Player Of The Year.
