Japan’s Takefuso Kubo Career And Goals In La Liga
Kubo joined FC Barcelona’s academy at a very young age and started progressing through the youth ranks of the club. However, his spell with the club was cut short because Barcelona violated FIFA’s international transfer policy for under-18 youths.
Subsequently, Kubo was banned from Barcelona and returned to his home country Japan in search of regular playtime. He joined FC Tokyo upon his return to Japan and grew mature learning the Japanese way of football.
In 2019, Kubo signed for Los Blancos on a 5-year deal and started training with the first team but only featured in some pre-season games. His fate was decided that he would join Real Madrid B and learn the Spanish way of football once again.
However, he was loaned out to RCD Mallorca for the whole season where he developed as a player and featured in 35 games for the club finding the net 4 times during that successful loan spell. He impressed the coaching staff of Villareal in a match against them who in the next season secured his loan move to the club.
Kubo had a shaky start to his Villareal career as some reports suggested that the Japanese was incompetent in the training sessions because of which he was mostly used as a substitute by the Yellow Submarine.
His loan move was cut short and was loaned back again to Getafe where he featured regularly and played in 18 games for the club.
