Given everything, it is a huge relief for the Lakers that Davis, barring any setbacks, is anticipated to play in Game 6 against the Warriors on Friday, according to Chris Haynes of Turner Sports.
On a D’Angelo Russell layup attempt in the fourth quarter of Game 5 on Wednesday, Warriors big man Kevon Looney’s forearm struck Davis in the head. He abruptly quit the game and, in accordance with Haynes, required assistance being wheeled away for additional assessment.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, who claimed that Davis felt “woozy” but was not immediately diagnosed with a concussion. Jon Ishop, an athletic trainer, first assessed Davis on the Lakers’ bench before he retreated to the back of the arena for additional medical care.
Davis was pushed into a training area in a wheelchair. At the conclusion of the game, Davis was free to exit the arena alone, walking to the team bus. After a preliminary assessment of Davis, there was no mention of a concussion, a source close to the Lakers centre told ESPN.
Will AD be available for game 6?
The NBA has strict rules that would make a return in time for Game 6 questionable if Davis was found to have a concussion. The league’s concussion protocol states that a player who has been diagnosed with a concussion should be closely watched for 24 hours to see how their symptoms change.
As a result, they are not allowed to start the process of returning to participation and effort until 24 hours have passed after the incident. The following prerequisites must be satisfied before a player can return from a concussion:
- He must not exhibit any concussion symptoms while at rest.
- A doctor needs to examine him.
- He must have finished the NBA’s exertion-based return-to-participation process satisfactorily.
- The team doctor must have spoken with the NBA concussion program’s director about the procedure for returning to play.
