Greater Noida, 3rd September 2024: Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi- NCR, marked the successful conclusion of the ‘Shiv Nadar University 10K Challenge 2024’, yesterday at the University’s campus

It was the 2nd edition, and the event brought together over 2000+ runners from diverse backgrounds, encouraging an inclusive and dynamic community celebration.

With three categories – 10K run, 5K run and 5K walk the event catered to individuals of varying fitness levels. The participants had the opportunity to explore the picturesque routes while enjoying a day filled with fitness, camaraderie, and community spirit. The Shiv Nadar University 10K Challenge 2024 witnessed an impressive turnout of 1,800 participants, with a 30:70 ratio of women to men. The marathon was flagged off by Shikhar Malhotra, Chancellor, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence and CEO & Vice Chairman, HCL Healthcare and Anamika Hooda, Gold Medallist in the Women’s 50kg Boxing category at the BRICS Games 2024, Russia.

This diverse group spanned a wide age range, exemplifying the event’s inclusivity and vibrant community celebration. The winners in various categories displayed exceptional determination and endurance. In the Men’s 10K Challenge, Ashwin emerged as the champion and completed his run in 32 minutes and 42 seconds. The Women’s 10K Challenge saw Neeta Rani clinch the top spot with an outstanding performance, completing her run in 36 minutes 24 seconds. In the fiercely contested Men’s 5K run, Sumit Kumar triumphed and completed his run in 16 minutes and 4 seconds. Madina Paul emerged as the Women’s 5K Challenge winner, completing her run in 18 minutes and 46 seconds setting an inspiring example of dedication and perseverance. Brigadier Steve Ismail (Retd.), Dean of Student Affairs, secured third place in the male above-55 age category.

The event exhibited the participants’ physical prowess and emphasized the richness of Shiv Nadar University’s campus. The campus surrounded by lush greenery and biodiversity provided the ideal setting for this vibrant event. The Shiv Nadar University 10K Challenge will continue to grow as a landmark event for Shiv Nadar University, Delhi- NCR. It has been successful in being a medium to establish University’s mission to provide a healthy and vibrant community.
