The owner of Al’s Tattoos and Body Piercing parlors in Bandra, Mumbai, Arun Ronald Athony Alva, can attest to the rise in instances involving body piercings. According to him, people are getting inclined towards this form of body art these days.

According to Arun Ronald Alva of Al who went to St. Sebastian’s High School, tattoos have become more popular, especially among police officers, hospital employees, and domestic help. It’s interesting to see that many are increasingly getting tattoos to hide the scars from abuse and surgeries.
The five artists at Alva’s workshop enjoy doing portraits, bio-mechanical designs, and watercolors, whereas Alva prefers freehand tattooing and drawing natural components like leaves, flowers, and twigs. According to him, getting inked with a son or daughter’s name is an inevitable trend because clients are very concerned about avoiding cover-ups.
