Players To Watch Out For At The Alpine Skiing Slalom Event
Two notable American names to watch during the Alpine Skiing competition are Mikaela Shiffrin (Edwards, Colorado) and Ryan Cochran-Siegle (Starksboro, Vermont). Shiffrin has won three Olympic gold medals (two gold), three World Cup titles, and six world championships. The 26-year-old is a once-in-a-generation skier who will be a gold medal contender in each event she competes in.
Shiffrin might tie or break the record for most Olympic alpine skiing medals in a single Games, depending on how many events she competes in (Downhill, Giant Slalom, Super-G, Combined, Slalom) (4). Janica Kostelic of Croatia set the current record in 2002.
For India, Arif Khan would carry the hopes of many. “Being at the Winter Olympics is one of my dreams, and this is my first time.” It means a great deal to me. It’s a fantastic message to our country and people to participate in winter sports in the future,” Khan said.
