Lakshya Sen secured his spot in the men’s singles second-round at the 2024 All England Open by defeating Johannesen 21-14, 21-14. He is set to face Dane shuttler Anders Antonsen on Thursday. PV Sindhu advanced to the women’s singles second-round after defeating Yvonne Li, and she will compete against top-seed An Se-young. Unfortunately, Priyanshu Rajawat suffered a loss of 19-21, 21-11, 9-21 against Chico Wardoyo.
In another Tuesday match, HS Prannoy was defeated by Taiwanese shuttler Su Li-Yang, who won with a score of 14-21, 21-13, 21-13. Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen swiftly defeated former world number one Kidambi Srikanth in straight sets, 21-9, 21-9, in a match lasting only 33 minutes. Axelsen is now set to compete against Weng Hongyang from the People’s Republic of China in the second round.
