2023 All England women’s singles day 4 schedule, date, venue, latest results, & quarterfinal draw
On Thursday at the All England Open, the 2016 Olympic champion Carolina Marin and the reigning world champion Yamaguchi Akane both triumphed in their women’s singles second-round contests. Marin, the seventh seed in Birmingham, held off her American opponent Beiwen Zhang in 41 minutes to qualify for the quarterfinal. Meanwhile, Yamaguchi defeated Yvonne Li in straight games under 35 minutes to raise her head-to-head record against the German player to 4-0.
Following results of Thursday, it is confirmed that Akane Yamaguchi will face-off against China’s Wang Zhiyi for a place in the semi-final and Carolina Marin will clash against in-form second-seed An Se-young. 2023 All England Open: BWF points award system
Each category champion at the All England Open would be awarded a total of 12,000 BWF points, with the runner-up receiving around 10,200 points. After losing their respective second-round ties, Chinese shuttlers Zhang Yi Man & Han Yue, who are both in good form, will leave with just 4,800 BWF points.
2023 All England Open: prize money distribution
With the $1,250,000 total prize pool for the 2023 BWF Super 1000 All England Open, each singles category winner will get $87,500. Men’s singles runners-up will receive $42,500 as opposed to the semi-final losers, who will only receive $17,500. Zhang and Han’s quest for the women’s singles championship came to an end when they were eliminated in the second round and only given $3,750 in compensation.
