Popular streaming giant Netflix has finally confirmed the international streaming release date for Alice in Borderland season 2, know about episode 1 and the cast
Netflix announced the news at their recent TUDUM 2022 event. Alice in Borderland is Japanese science fiction drama based on the graphic novel of the same name by Haro Aso.

2020 saw an incredible growth of original Asian content on Netflix with Alice in Borderland as the final drop.
The series revolves around Chota and his friends, who are kidnapped into an alternate reality. There, the group is trapped and forced to play fatal games against a mysterious game-master in order to survive.
Alice In Borderland Season 2 Teasers And Easter Eggs
Netflix was quick to show hints of a possible Alice In Borderland Season 2. Thanks to the numerous ‘Easter eggs’ that featured in the eighth episode’s final scene. The final scene depicted advertisements for “season 2” on buildings and blimps.
As such, once season 1 concluded, fans around the world knew that a second season was being planned at Robot Communications and Netflix.
Moreover, just two weeks later after the show concluded on December 24, 2020, fans of Alice in Borderland received an early Christmas present with the confirmation that season 2 was in production.
Soon, the promotional video confirming the renewal was shared on Netflix’s YouTube channel, which stated that “Season 2 is coming!”

Alice In Borderland Season 2 Release Date Confirmed
Netflix hosted their Japan Festival on November 9, 2021, where they shared a 14-minute-long promotional video for upcoming Asian titles.
In the video, the streaming giant featured the Alice in Borderland J-drama at around the 8-minute mark. Lead actors Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya are seen revealing that filming on season 2 had already started and that the team were looking forward to continuing production.
What is the purpose of this game? Will they be able to return to the real world? What is the answer that Arisu is seeking? We hope to continue to work hard while shooting the series so that you can enjoy this show until the very end.

The news was further confirmed in a follow-up cast announcement video that season 2 would premiere in December 2022.
Now, Netflix have recently confirmed in a new trailer that Alice in Borderland season 2 would premiere around the world on Thursday, December 22nd during their recent TUDUM event,
The popular OTT platform however hasn’t confirmed the number of episodes in Alice in Borderland season 2.
Inspirations From Alice In Wonderland
Alice In Borderland has some obvious connection to the original Alice in Wonderland story, especially its title. However, this isn’t the only inspiration from the classic tale.
The main character ‘Arisu’ is the Japanese-language version of ‘Alice’. The Japanese alphabet has no ‘L’ so this would be the closest translation.
Then we have ‘Chishiya’ as ‘Cheshire Cat’, ‘Hatter’ as ‘Mad Hatter’ and so on, showing the writers played true homage to the original fairy tale.
