Alex Palou is one of the first Spanish racing drivers to achieve a National Championship in American open-wheel racing history and also the first Spaniard to win in GP3 Series, know his wife, net worth and contract

Alex Palou was born on 1st of April in 1997 and he is a Spanish racing driver. He drives for Chip Ganassi Racing in the IndyCar Series where Alex Palou won the 2021 series championship. Recently Alex has stated, ‘he won’t enter F1 by accepting seat as a reserve driver.’

Palou signed at Ganassi for 2021 on a two year deal that is believed to have options for 2023 and 2024 and could be on the way to McLaren for the F1 2023 season with him recently having his F1 practice debut. While his actual salary has not been revealed to the public, IndyCar race car drivers make between $19,910 and $187,200. Alex Palou’s net worth is estimated at around $2.62 million.

Alex Palou Professional Career

Alex hails from Sant Antoni de Vilamajor and this Spanish racer started his karting career in year 2003. Alex’s biggest karting achievement was the championship title in the WSK Euro Series in year 2012. Palou made his open-wheel racing debut and contested in Euroformula Open Championship with Campos Racing in 2014. He achieved the opening race at Nurburgring and the final race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Palou also won a race at the Hungaroring to finish third in the series standings and missed out on the runner-up placing by just one point to Artur Janosz. Palou tested an IndyCar in July of 2019 with Dale Coyne Racing. On 14th of September in 2022 it was declared that an agreement had been reached by all parties that Palou will continue with the Chip Ganassi for year 2023 season with McLaren signing him to test the MCL35M.

In September of 2022 McLaren announced that they had signed Palou to their Testing of Previous Cars program which would see him test the MCL35M. Palou will debut in free practice with McLaren at the 2022 United States Grand Prix.
