Recent reports suggest that a Chinese international marketing organization is orchestrating an All-Star friendly match between Al Nassr and Inter Miami, with the sole purpose of reigniting this iconic rivalry.
The proposed showdown is slated to take place in China, where both Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr and Messi’s Inter Miami will lock horns.ย
This is not the first time China has played host to such prestigious encounters, as evidenced by the friendly match between Riyadh XI (Saudi Pro League All-Stars) and Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year, in which both Ronaldo and Messi featured prominently.
Ali Alabdallh, a journalist at Al Bilad Daily, mentions that reportedly an international marketing company from China is interested in hosting an All-Star friendly match between Inter Miami and Al-Nassr in China and this match would stage the teams’ star players, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, against each other.
However, it is still uncertain whether the international company can secure this deal but this proposal appeared after Al-Nassr received invitations for some friendly encounters in China this January with a date for a match vs Inter Miami likely to be in January 2024.
While Al-Nassr has already received invitations for friendly games, Inter Miami is yet to be formally invited to this spectacle. The anticipation among fans is palpable, as the two football titans, who have earned multiple Ballon d’Or titles between them, could potentially square off for the 37th time in their careers.ย
Ronaldo, with five Ballon d’Or awards, and Messi, with a staggering seven, have consistently raised the bar for excellence in football.
