A 19-year-old student and renowned lacrosse player died unexpectedly Monday, leaving the University of Massachusetts Amherst community in sadness. Aidan Kaminska, a sophomore studying in communications and a midfielder on the Minutemen lacrosse team, was born in Stony Brook, New York, according to an obituary.

Aidan Kaminska Origin, Career, Achievements, and Hobbies
According to his obituary, Kaminska began playing lacrosse at an early age as part of a newly formed programme at Port Jefferson, New York. He had been a member of numerous travel lacrosse teams, including Legacy Lacrosse, where he was a member of the 2016 World Series of Youth Lacrosse title team.
According to his obituary, Kaminska was a captain on both the boys’ football and lacrosse teams in high school. In his junior year of lacrosse, he was selected All-County Midfielder. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, his senior year was cancelled. Kaminska was selected “Rookie of the Week” as a redshirt freshman after scoring three goals in a game against Hofstra University, which expressed its deepest condolences to the Kaminska family.
Later, Aidan went on to be named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie team and the CAA All-Tournament team for the 2022 season. Kaminska enjoyed baby animals, particularly ducklings and bunnies, in addition to lacrosse and football.

A wake for the athlete will be held in East Setauket, New York, on Friday, and a funeral will be conducted in Port Jefferson on Saturday.
