Mob Attack at Matrix Fight Night 9 after Seth Rosario’s Controversial First Round TKO Win Over Zahoor Shah

Following the super bout between Seth Rosario and Zahoor Shah at Matrix Fight Night 9, a disorderly mob attacked cage-side. In Round 1, Seth Rosario defeated Zahoor Shah by TKO. However, the boisterous crowd became hostile as it appeared that the first round had gone over the permitted five minutes which allowed Seth Rosario’s late TKO. Although it appeared that the timer had passed the first round during the stream, Pushkaraj Shirke has since confirmed this on Instagram.

According to Ayesha Shroff of Matrix Fight Night, no Afghan fighter will ever appear on another MFN card in the future considering the level of damage created this time due to the mob attack. Bollywood superstar Tiger Shroff and his sister Krishna Shroff, a fitness icon, collaborated on their passion project known as Matrix Fight Night 9.

Why fans misunderstood the Win as controversial?

Zahur received warnings and had points deducted from his score, therefore the official time was paused for 29 seconds. Although the stoppage was precisely within the allotted time, the overhead clock did not stop, giving the crowd the false impression that the officials had stopped after five minutes.

The first round of the fight between Seth and Zahur Shah was stopped twice by the referee, Daniel Isaac: once for a warning (15 seconds) and once for a point deduction (14 seconds). The total time the fight was stopped during these warnings was 29 seconds, and the official clock was stopped during these warnings.

Round 1 had been going for 4:36 when the referee eventually decided to end it in favour of Seth. Zahur got a whole 10 seconds to try a comeback, but Seth completely outweighed him and it had to be stopped.
