AFCON 2022 is just around the corner, read on to know all about its schedule, fixtures, groups, stadiums, teams, live stream, broadcast

Cameroon has been given the rights to host the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations after the tournament got postponed last summer. Fans all over the African continent have been going berserk with the excitement to finally see the tournament taking place in January 2022.

Even though the battle with Covid is far from over, the biggest football tournament in Africa is now less than 72 hours from kick-off in the Cameroonian capital of Yaounde on Sunday, January 9th 2022.

AFCON 2022: Winner Predictions And Favourites

So who do you think will take the title home this time around? Algeria are the defending champions, having defeated Senegal in the 2019 final and there is no doubt that they will look to do so once again. Meanwhile, the Senegal national team will also give it their all for a chance at redemption and African glory.

While both Algeria and Senegal are favourites, we must not make the mistake of undermining the strength of teams like Egypt, Morocco and Ivory Coast. All 3 very much possess the abilities to give the defending champs and runners-up of the last tournament a tough time at conquering the continent.

AFCON Stadiums And Venue

A total of six venues across Cameroon have been selected to host the fixtures that will take place from January to February of 2022. The year is certainly going to be an exhausting one for all footballers and the AFCON is just the beginning.

Here’s a list of the six stadiums:

  • Olembe Stadium, Yaounde
  • Stade Ahmadou Ahido, Yaounde
  • Japoma Stadium, Douala
  • Roumde Adija Stadium, Garoua
  • Kouekong Stadium, Bafoussam
  • Limbe Stadium, Limbe

Players To Watch

Players like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Riyadh Mahrez are amongst the ones to watch and look out for as there is no doubt about the fact that they will bring a lot of their skill and talent to the competition.
