It’s the 20th edition of the AFC Women’s Asia Cup and the tournament is set to get underway this week with a number of thrilling fixtures lined up.

The competition is a behind-closed- door one and is scheduled to take place in India itself with the venues located across the state of Maharashtra namely- DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai and Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune. There will be no sale of tickets owing to the ongoing COVID wave in the state.
The approaching competition also stands as the final stage of Asian qualification for the FIFA Women’s 2023 World Cup which will take place in Australia and New Zealand.

Date: The competition is ready to kick-off from 20th January, Thursday with China and Chinese Taipei locking horns with each other.
Venue: – DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai and Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune.

12 teams will be participating in the tournament, with all of them being divided into three groups of four teams each. The top two teams of every group and the two best third- placed teams will proceed to the quarter-finals.
