AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers Results Today, India vs Kuwait Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, Fixtures of India, & Other Details
On Sunday, in Group H match of AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers at the Ali Sabah Al-Salem stadium in Kuwait City, India suffered their second consecutive defeat after losing 1-4 against Australia. However, India showed immense grit after falling behind by two goals in the first half and even managed to score one goal through captain Gurkirat Singh. In the final five minutes of the game, when India was attempting to launch a full-court offensive, it conceded two more goals. Adrian Segecic’s amazing shot in the 86th minute beat Indian goalkeeper Syed Zahid Bukhari on all cylinders, but Max Caputo’s late goal put the hammer in the coffin.
In another Group H game of Sunday, Iraq defeated hosts Kuwait by score of 2-0 to win their second consecutive match. Iraq’s win over Kuwait ensured that India and Kuwait won’t make it past qualifiers while Iraq and Australia will clash in last game to secure berth in main tournament as group winner. On October 18 at 7:00 PM IST, India will play its last qualifier match against hosts Kuwait and attempt to secure a consolation win for their efforts so far. Irrespective of their results so far, Indian team managed to rattle tournament favorites like Iraq and Australia but fell short due to defensive error in dying moments of game.
